recycle bin on d:\ is corrupted do you want to empty the recycle bin for this drive ?

Hi everyone,

In our company we have Windows 8.1 systems. In some systems we are getting issues. whenever i login in to a system i get a error. "recycle bin on d: is corrupted do you want to empty the recycle bin for this drive ?" Also i am not able to create, delete file or folders. i search this on Google and try all options but no luck !!

even i format system and did a clean install but still same issue. i changed permissions, Ownerships etc. also tried to run "rd /s/q D:\$Recycle.bin" from CMD with Administrator a/c but still facing same issue.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

try open that recycle bin  folder, try to restore all the files, if cant, just closed it, and try again to delete by right clicking the folder

You sure you already clean install Operating system? this is consider registry issue or 3rd party software issue

but lets try to TS again

try to login using local admin PC, check if this issue also persist there

turn of antivirus and security software to check, or you can perform clean boot

try to run system file checker to fix registry issue

http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

try to login at safe mode (with networking option if this PC connected to domain), and check

is this issue not persist at safe mode, maybe 3rd party software caused this issue

is there any important data on the D drive? please backup if any. Try to reformat this drive and check

the other workaround is try to create user profile

Hello,

I am afraid you clean installed the new Operating System on another drive without formatting the previous system drive, right?

1. Open my computer, from the Tools menu > Folder options> View , select show hidden files and folders and uncheck Hide protected operating system files

2. Right click on cmd.exe and select Run as administrator

3. Go to the root of E:

4. Type RD $Recycle.Bin /s/q This command deleted all the subfolders under recycle bin

5. Restarting the computer creates the $Recycle.Bin folder and resolved the issue.

Thanks,
